Plot Outline: During the Crusades of the 12th Century, a young blacksmith leads the people of Jerusalem in defense against the Crusaders. Orlando Bloom will play a young blacksmith who becomes a knight, saves a kingdom and falls in love with the princess of Jerusalem while defending the city against the Crusaders.
Filming Dates and Locations
Filming is due to begin on January 12th in Morocco. The film will shoot six weeks in the Spanish cities of Segovia, Huesca, Ávila, Granada, Sevilla, Jerez.
and Córdoba. Filming at Loarre Castle in Spain will be from January
5th to the 30th, and will be closed to visitors on those dates.
Filming will continue in Segovia for four days, then
Avila, Palma del Rio and finally Sevilla where shooting will last twelve
days. Finally they will travel to Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate, Morocco, on February 27 where medieval Jerusalem will be reproduced. Filming there will take 11 weeks.
